PRIMO CUP

XXVI PRIMO CUP - Trophée Credit Suisse

For over 25 years the monotype racing international elite has been meeting each year, early February, in the Bay of Monaco to the Primo Cup – Trophée Credit Suisse, organised by the Yacht Club de Monaco, which gives the start of the international season.
Each edition has its series, while the Dragons had come last year to celebrate their 80th anniversary; it is the Surprise series, one of the most faithful series to the Primo Cup with more than 20 participants, which will be honoured this year, by the organization of the Europa Cup and the presence of the bet European crews.
Along this series the Longtze Premiers, already noticed last year with their colourful design; Melges20s, elected boat of the year 2009; Melges 32s and their very sharp professional crews; Farr 30s (ex Mumm 30s), series of the Tour de France à la Voile, as well as Platu 25s, Melges 24s and Esse 850s, for which the Primo Cup will count as first stage of their European circuit, without forgetting both headlines series of the Yacht Club de Monaco: the Smeralda 888s and J24s.
Among the novelties: the organization of a Match Race in Smeralda 888 series, the Interclub Challenge, in parallel with the fleet regattas. The objective is to celebrate mono hull racing, through a variety of supports and in various racing formats.
The Prize awarded is just as exclusive. The First three teams of each series will receive sportswear from Slam Advanced Technology Sportswear collection. A Hublot chronograph will be offered to each of the winning Surprises’ owners and to the series with the most participating vessels on the first weekend; without forgetting the gold bar, estimated at €2,500, put at stake by the Credit Suisse (Monaco) in the traditional prize draw.
All in all, more than 11 series, over 250 boats and more than 1,000 competitors, amateurs and professionals, overall representing about twenty nations, are expected both weekends.
